* Mike Weir birdied his final hole of the day at Spyglass to move to 11-under-par and into solo second with three rounds in the 60s. He has six top-10s in 11 starts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am (2006-T3, 2005-2, 2004-T4, 2003-T3, 2001-T8, 2000-T7).* Of Weir’s eight PGA Tour victories, seven have been after he trailed going into the final round. Weir’s largest come-from-behind win came at the 2003 Nissan Open where he trailed Charles Howell III by seven strokes through 54 holes.

* Dustin Johnson, 24, is looking to become the seventh United States native currently in his 20s with multiple PGA Tour victories (J.B. Holmes, Sean O’Hair, Anthony Kim, Nick Watney, Charles Howell III, D.J. Trahan). Johnson captured the Turning Stone Resort Championship last year in his rookie season, overcoming a 2-stroke deficit in the final round to overcome 54-hole leaders Charles Howell III and Tag Ridings. Trahan (T6) and O’Hair (T10) head into Sunday’s final round each looking for their third Tour victories.

* Bob Estes (T4) is playing in his 170th Tour event since his last victory at the 2002 Kemper Insurance Open. Estes posted a 5-under-par 67 at Spyglass Hill on Saturday.
* The cut came in at 2-under-par 214 with 68 players advancing to Sunday’s final-round. The top 70 and ties (80 total) will get paid and receive FedExCup points but only the top 60 and ties (68 total) will play on Sunday.
* For the amateur cut, the top 25 teams qualify for Sunday’s final round – the tiebreaker being as follows:

* Despite a 2-over-par 74 on Saturday, Charley Hoffman (T14) heads into the final round with an opportunity for his third consecutive top-10. Hoffman lost in a playoff to Kenny Perry at the FBR Open two weeks ago followed up by a T7 last week at the Buick Invitational.
* Aided by a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday at Spyglass Hill, Kenny Perry (T10) jumped into contention looking to capture his second PGA Tour win of the season.
* The 1996 PGA Championship winner Mark Brooks (T10) is playing in his 89th event since his last top-10, a T10 at the 2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. He is playing in his 24th career AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, having missed just one start since 1984 (1986). He has one top-10 at the event, a T7 in 2000.

* Three-time AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am champion Phil Mickelson birdied the final hole to make the cut on the number at 2-under-par. Mickelson has now made 11 cuts in 14 starts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
* Garrett Willis was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard.
* Notable missed cuts this week include reigning FedExCup champion Vijay Singh (+6) and reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year Padraig Harrington (+2).
* The eligible players for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship will be finalized Monday morning when the updated Official World Golf Ranking is released. The top 64 eligible players in the Official World Golf Ranking will compete for the top prize of $1.4 million over five days (February 25-March 1) of match play.
